Join us to plan a celebration of the historic victory of  ILWU local 26 and the community against EGT to be held in the town of Longview with the support of Occupy Longview and the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Central Labor Council. It is known to our labor allies that it was the threat of  Occupy community action and labor solidarity that brought EGT to the bargaining table after 2 years of stonewalling. Our planned direct action strengthened ILWU\’s bargaining power which resulted in a  5 year contract signed by local 26 over a week ago. We will also plan a forum/speakers panel and Occupy discussion on the \”Labor, Occupy and the Longview victory: lessons learned and future steps\”. Our future as a committee is also to be decided upon. We will discuss other topics that may arise as well.
